Retired USAF Master Sergeant Robert Kitchenmaster, aka “K12”, a beloved husband, brother, friend and mentor, age 65, passed away at his home in Kempner, Texas, on Wednesday, 27 November 2024. He gained his angel wings and went to be with his Heavenly Father. Robert was born on 16 October 1959 in Savannah, George to Leslie “Kitch” and Ruth (Kemp) Kitchenmaster. As a military brat, he traveled all over the world with his Air Force Dad. In September 1978, Robert joined the Air Force as a ROMAD/Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), retiring in September 1999, after fulfilling 21 years of service to his country. After retiring from the USAF Robert worked multiple jobs, and in 2007 he opened a business, Kwik Kar of Harker Heights, an idea he came up with after travelling and spending time in Australia. In 2006 he started dating the love of his life, Brenda, whom he met in November 2001 and married in July 2012. Robert loved travelling and going on cruises with Brenda and spending time with family and friends. He loved helping others and always put others before himself. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Harker Heights, and served as president for Rotary year 2020-2021. He was the TACP-Association’s South Central Regional Group Representative, which gave him multiple opportunities to help others. Even though he had an Air Force career, he enjoyed being a part of Brenda’s Army career, sometimes admitting it was “weird but good” to see “KITCHENMASTER” on her Army uniform!
Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda; sisters Susan (Eric) Porr, Teresa (Craig) Sikes, and Lina Tomlin; Aunt Myrene Goerl; cousins Kenny (Kerry) Goerl and Terry (Kathy) Goerl, brother-in-law and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Leslie Kitchenmaster, his stepmother, Dena Kitchenmaster, his mother-in-law & father-in-law Barbara & Joe Guffey along with many beloved friends, that were more like family than friends.
Robert will be greatly missed and will always be remembered as “K12” - a kind, generous, and thoughtful individual who loved being with family and friends and would do anything he could for others.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
