Michael was only a few days old when June and I took turns holding him in our arms.  We should not outlive the young ones in this life.  The natural order of things is for the elderly to pass on first.  Being the officient at Michael's funeral was one of the most emotional yet one of the most rewarding experiences of my (David) life.  June and I cherish the memories and hold fast to the faith we have in our wonderful God who understands more than we could begin to suspect about our walks through life with our family and friends surrounding us.  We give thanks for His blessings to us and especially to Michael, for in death, God was continuing to lead Michael by the hand.

You never know how much your brother means to you until he is gone.  I have lost an important part of my past that helped define who I am today.  I have also been cheated out of a future that should have been filled with memories for a lifetime. 

I have a hole in my heart that will never again be filled. You see, Michael wasn't "just" a brother, he was part of me. That one person who knew me from childhood to adulthood.   We shared a lifetime of secrets and private family jokes.  We remembered family feuds, supported each other through family sorrows, and shared an enormous amount of joy and happiness throughout our lives.  We knew if we ever truly needed each other, we would drop it all and be there.  

I think about Michael every day.  I will miss him and grieve him for the rest of my life until we meet again.  My life has changed forever losing my brother too soon.  I look at everything differently now.  Nothing in my life is left untouched by his passing and never will be.  My only comfort through this all is that he is at peace and free from pain now.  Sadly, that still does not take away my heartbreak. That, I will have to learn to live with.  Michael - you will always be in my heart.

     Words can't express how much I miss you.  From the moment you were placed in my arms you grew in my heart.  Now a piece of my heart has been taken again.
     You were such a Blessing, joy, friendly, a teaser and that Laugh! - that was you.
