Melissa Lynne Thompson

Melissa Lynne Thompson, Age 45, of Copperas Cove Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Advent Hospital. Melissa was born on August 26,1976 in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents Danny Jay Smith Sr. and Sandra Lee Hackbirth.

Melissa was a loving mother and wife. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Patrick Andrew Thompson; Son, Jesse James Andrew Thompson; Daughter, Samantha Kristen Lee Hoff; and grandson, Zachary Austin Hoff-Reneau-Jackson. She is also survived by her sister, Michelle Roemer and husband Kris Roemer and her children Brandi Lamb, Deborah Hallett and Isabella Roemer. Her brother, Aaron Smith and wife Sara Smith and their children Gwendolyn Smith, Taylyn Smith, and Kyler Smith. Her brother, Danny Jay Smith Jr. and his wife Deborah Smith and her mother, Sandra Lee Hackbirth.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Hope Hoff; brother, Jesse James Nabinger; grandparents, Norma and Chester Jones; Uncle, Michael Gay; Stepfathers, Carl Rhom Jr, and Allen Hackbirth and Danny Jay Smith Sr.

Melissa was a hard-working woman who loved to help others even despite when she was having health issues. She cared a big deal about family and making memories and capturing them with photos. She loved her children and would do anything for them. She was very small, but her personality was fierce as she protected all that she cared for and loved. When she was younger her family moved around a lot due to being in the military. She had a horse and loved to horse back ride. She enjoyed ROTC when she was in school in North Carolina. She graduated from Johnstown, New York in 1999. As she got older, she fell in love with the horror genre of film, with Michael Myers, Leather face and Jason being some of her favorites. She also had a love for Jaws and great white sharks, she always wanted to go swimming with the sharks without a cage. She worked at Metroplex for several years, and then moved on to Rotech Medical Supply company until they consolidated their company. Afterwards she didn’t work much due to health reasonings, but it didn’t stop her from trying to make the best out of everything she kept pushing on.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 3,2022 from 6pm-8pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove Texas. A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 4, 2022, beginning at 10am at Kempner City Cemetery in Kempner, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Melissa’s memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Fort Hood Fisher House.
