Joseph Leonard Ward, Sr., age 65, of Copperas Cove passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in a Copperas Cove nursing home.Joseph was born July 6m 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Arernest Ward and Maybell (Leonard) Ward.He has lived in Copperas Cove since 2002 and was a member of Robertson Avenue Baptist Church.Joseph lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being around his friends.He was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by fiancée, Barbara Bratcher of Copperas Cove: two sons, Joe Ward, Jr. of Louisiana and Tim Ward of Mississippi; a daughter, Monigue (Nickii) Wright of Mississippi; his ex-wife, Joan Thomas of Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.The Ward family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Cremation will follow the funeral services.Services have been entrusted to the care of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
