SGM (RET) Jose Angel Alvarado Jr.

Services for SMG (RET) Jose Angel Alvarado Jr. of Copperas Cove, will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove followed by interment at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

He was born Oct.10,1938 in Laredo, Texas to to Jose Angel Alvarado Sr. and Manuela Gracia. He was raised and educated in Laredo.

Jose entered the US Army at the age of 17 and served twenty-nine and one half years retiring as Sergeant Major. He was a veteran of Vietnam serving 3 tours there. Mr. Alvarado also earned an Associates degree at CTC and worked for 17 years at the Post Office in Killeen. He was a Master Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and the Knights of Columbus. He loved golf, fishing and learning, always attending classes at CTC.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; a sister Maria Ojeda and a brother Domingo Alvarado.

He is survived by his wife Guadalupe Soliz Alvarado of Copperas Cove, two daughters; Guadalupe Linda Alvarado and her husband Gregory Daniel Pack of Copperas Cove; Marie Teresa Tucker and her husband Hans Tucker of Alvin, Texas, and two grandchildren; Teresa Lynn Pack and Isabel Anita Pack, both of Copperas Cove, Texas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
