He was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever he went. He was born in Bakersfield, California on April 7, 1940 to Robert Jackson Evans and Agnes Urah Savage/ Evans, both from Texas. He died peacefully in his home in Copperas Cove, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues made him show how courageous he was. Despite the pain, Jack came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He proudly served in the US Army, 97th Artillery Group during the Vietnam War (1964-1970) and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation.
Jack is survived by his brothers Robert Evans, Joe Evans, Chester Evans and two loving sisters, Sylvia Shepperd and Rosa Evans, his children Cyndi Evans, Jack William Evans Jr., and David Evans. With 9 grandchildren, Jeremy David Hassell, Sarah Diann Hassell, Allyse Evans, Jacob Ryan Hassell, Cody Evans, Kade Evans, Ethan Evans, Trey Evans, and David Evans. As well as nieces and nephews that were all devoted to him. Special thanks to his niece, Rebecca and nephew James for their hard work and dedication through this process.
Jack will be honored at a Graveside service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery where he will receive military honors at 11am on Friday August 18, 2023.
