She served as a medic and public health nurse in the United States Army for twenty-three years and retired as a Public Health Chief at the rank of Major. After retirement from the military, she taught nursing at Park University and Central Texas College.
Detra enjoyed gardening and was loved by everyone. There was no hate in her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Anderson; daughters, Tianna Conner, Olivia Anderson, Seniya Ashford-Conner; son, Ronald Jackson Jr. She is survived by three grandsons, Quamire, A’byr and Octavious.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 11:00 am in the Chapel at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, Copperas Cove. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
