Clarence H. Milligan, 70, a long time resident of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away at home January13, 2014 at 5:00 a.m. He was born January 11, 1944 in Huron, Indiana. Mr. Milligan served our country proudly for 21 years in the U. S. Army.
Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Mark Kemp officiating. Immediately following, there will be a graveside service with full military honors at noon at the Central Texas Veterans’ Cemetery.
Mr. Milligan was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bluebonnet Model A Club, Texas Woodcarvers Association, and MAFCA. He was known by friends and family as an avid gardener, wood carver, proud father and grandfather, and a soldier who loved his country. He eagerly looked forward to becoming a great grandfather in March.
Mr. Milligan was preceded in death by his parents John James Milligan and Flora Mlean (Winegar) Milligan, four sisters, one brother, Ives Milligan and one grandson, Andrew Brooking. Survivors include his wife of twenty five years, Gail Milligan; his sons, Bobb Milligan (Dawn) of Copperas Cove, Chris Milligan of Victoria, Mike Alexander (Karla) of Killeen, Steve Alexander (Tricia) of Greenville, Texas; daughters, Annette Prince of Bedford, Indiana, and Melissa Sparks (Paul) of Mitchell, Indiana; granddaughters Krystal Milligan of Copperas Cove, Samantha Alexander and Kaitlyn Alexander of Greenville, Texas, LaDonna Sparks of Mitchell, Indiana, Valerie Milligan of Marble Falls; grandsons Cameron Alexander of Killeen, Zakkery Milligan of Copperas Cove, Jacob Brooking and Jordin Brooking of Bedford, Indiana, and Matthew Alexander of Greenville, Texas. He has one brother, Harvey Milligan of Medora, Indiana, and six sisters: Burdett Parsons, Wilma Eller, Juanita Mott, Vivian Wilson all of Washington, Indiana and Retha Sons of North Vernon, Indiana, Brenda Bateman of Dover, Ohio; and one step sister Fern Steffe of Jasper, Indiana.
Pall bearers will be from the U. S. Army. Crawford Bowers Funeral Home is in charge of services.
