Funeral Services for Anna Maude Standridge Sharp, 88, of Copperas Cove, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Burial will follow at the Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa, Texas. Anna passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Hill Country Rehab and Nursing Center in Copperas Cove due to complications from Leukemia.
Anna was born May 3, 1931 in Temple, Texas to the late Jesse Arnold and Maudie Ann Cobb Standridge. She grew up in the Lampasas area and attended schools in Ogles and Nix through the 10th grade, and then finished high school in Lampasas. She married the late James Carl Sharp, Jr. on November 29, 1952 in Temple. She was a housewife and homemaker after her marriage. They resided in Harker Heights, Killeen, Lampasas, Brownwood, and then settled in Copperas Cove in 1964.
Anna’s hobbies and interests included sewing clothes for her family and herself, gardening, traveling with her family, dancing, camping trips, and she was a great cook. Anna was a cat loving woman. She absolutely adored them. She was a longtime member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church in Copperas Cove.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, J.D. Standridge and a sister, Ruby Faye Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Luann Sharp Christian of Copperas Cove; grandchildren, Lindsay Christian Mayo and her husband Bryan of Frankston, Texas, Bryan Christian and his wife Krista of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Koden Mayo, Gabriel Christian, Chance Christian, Khloe Christian and Ashlyn Mayo; sister, Annie Ruth Cloud; brother, Danny Lee Standridge and his wife Sally; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, November 18, 2019, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove, which is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Amedisys Hospice of Temple in Anna’s memory.
