Sarah Omana Mathew died peacefully with her family around her on November 19, 2022. Sarah was a woman who inspired people and led others to realize their full potential. As a mother and wife, her love knew no bounds. Truly, as a mother, she was unparalleled at teaching her kids to be the very best people they could be and treated them with kindness and love no matter the situation. She truly had a heart of gold.
Sarah was a graduate of Bakers Girls School in Kerala, India. In the 1960s, she migrated to the US with her husband, Dr V John Mathew, to make a better life for themselves and their family. Sarah began taking nursing courses at Tarrant County College, where her husband taught English. She worked full time and attended school full time as well. In addition, she was helping to raise four kids. She was filled with boundless energy and drive. In fact, she graduated at the top of her class in nursing school.
Sarah was a woman of faith and believed in the Lord with her whole heart. Her love for God radiated outwardand drew those in who were intrigued by her glow. She read the Bible daily and knew scripture by heart. She set an example for her children with the way she lived a good Christian life and inspired others around her too with her faith and life of service.
Sarah will be remembered for her intelligence, love of family, sly sense of humor, and gentle and loving presence. She is a shining example of a life well lived and one of service to her patients , family, church, and friends. She will most be remembered for her devotion to God and the Christian faith and the wonderful example she set for her family throughout her life.
