Samuel Philip

A loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered with love long after his passing. Samuel P. Philip (Raju) has gone to be with his Lord on Nov 2nd, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones who will strive to honor his memory by living their lives to the fullest.

Raju was born in Oct 10th, 1948 to the late K P Samuel (retired headmaster) and Mariamma Samuel in Ranny, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India. He was the youngest of three and was raised with his two older sisters, Lillykutty Mathews and Kunjunjamma Mathew. After graduating from CMS college with a Bachelors degree in Physics, he moved to Germany along with his late wife, Aleyamma Philip in 1974. While in Germany, he completed his nursing degree and practiced nursing for many years there.

Raju got married to Rosamma Philip in 1989, and they later were immigrated to Dallas, TX in 1997 along with their four children: Melvin, Rubin, Sherin, and Rajee. While raising his family and building a new life in US, he worked as a nurse for a home health agency and worked at the DFW Airport simultaneously to provide for his family. After his retirement, he spent most of his time with his children and their families. He enjoyed raising his grandchildren and was a loving Grandpa to them all. He touched many lives with his infectious smile and his caring actions. He had a strong Christian faith and was a senior member of his church, AOICF. The memory of him will be forever echoed onto the pages of our lives.
