Roy Delbert “Deb” Onstott, a long time Coppell resident, went to see his Lord and Savior December 30, 2017. Deb was born in Hamilton County Texas to Clifford and Maudie Onstott October 27, 1923 and was raised in Ohio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Charlene Chilton and Patsy Whatley. He is survived by Joy, his wife of 64 years, his sons Roy Onstott and wife Linda of Houston and Al Onstott of Coppell, his grandchildren Mason Onstott of Birmingham, Alabama, Brandon Onstott of Fort Worth, Trevor and Lauren Onstott of Coppell, his sisters Maudine Underhill of Plano and Coreece Estes of Houston, his brothers Odus Onstott and wife Debbie of Paulden, Arizona and Bill Onstott and wife Suzanne of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deb left Evant High School to join the Army at the beginning of WWII and graduated after the war. He served in Europe with the 10th Armor Division in General Patton’s 3rd Army during the war. Deb was an active member of Valwood Park Baptist Church since 1964. He served as a Deacon, drove the church bus, taught Training Union and assisted with maintenance of the church buildings for years. Deb retired from Texas Instruments (TI) following his employment of 31 years. Deb will be missed by all who knew him.
The viewing is Friday evening at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home 400 Freeport PKWY Coppell. Services will be at Valwood Park Baptist Church at 2727 Valwood Parkway Farmers Branch, Texas 75234 Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:30 am. Following the church service, graveside services will be at 3:30 pm Oakwood Cemetery 808 N Rice St Hamilton, Texas.
