He was born in Kingston NY, to William and Pauline Moser. He is survived by his wife Nancy Moser.
Rob attended Beloit College in Wisconsin, graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Anthropology. He then attended the University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 1975 with a Master’s in Sociology.
Rob served in the Navy from 1972 to 1978. He was stationed in San Diego and at sea on the USS Sperry (a submarine tender). He received an honorable discharge in 1978 as a Data Processing Technician 2nd Class.
His interests and education in technology and sociology prepared him to be successful in his career choices. He worked in the technology sector, including roles supporting global information security, disaster recovery infrastructure, data center implementations and technology consulting in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Rob worked for several consulting firms and local offices for EDS, Southwest Airlines Dell Services Perot Systems and Data Return. His extensive experience in data processing and data center equipment implementations enabled him to achieve positive results for his teams and their clients.
He was an avid reader and was proud to be lifetime member of IEEE. Rob obtained his private pilot’s license and owned a Piper Arrow retractable plane. His bookshelf included technical manuals mysteries, nonfiction, cookbooks, maps, and history books. He was an accomplished skier and enjoyed taking pictures of planes at Air Show Performances and the Big Boy Steam Train based in Wyoming.
Rob was a reliable resource on many topics, and he enjoyed information sharing teaching opportunities.
There will be memorial service on Thursday, November 14th, at the Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to animal rescue organization of your choice. Interment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie at a later date.
