Peggy entered this world on September 6, 1936 in Rockdale, TX, daughter of Gene and Blanche Rose. She married the love of her life, Rayford Hamil, on September 5, 1956. They shared 58 glorious years together before he preceded her to heaven in 2015.
Always a Texas girl, she spent most of her life in Houston. She moved to Grapevine, TX with Rayford in her 50’s. Not long after Rayford passed, she moved up to Frisco, TX.
Peggy was an industrious woman who set an exemplary example of how to apply yourself to achieve goals. This attitude gained her the Vice President of Human Resources position with Lomas, a mortgage banking firm, where she was employed for 30 years.
After retiring, she and Rayford travelled much, both in the U.S. and abroad. They visited almost every capital city in the U.S. They explored many interesting foreign locales such as England, China, Egypt, New Zealand, Australia, and Russia. Truly, Peggy and Rayford never met a stranger so they were as delightful to be with as the fun they had meeting new people. Sometimes they travelled by themselves and sometimes with their dear friends Chuck and Iila Reed or dear friend Gwen Hill.
Peggy was creative and imaginative, directing those qualities into turning scraps of fabric and thread into works of art. She belonged to several different sewing, quilting, and embroidery clubs to share her interest with her friends.
Peggy was an animal lover, with an especial affection for cats. Her cats, particularly her most recent companion Billy Bob, returned her affection as abundantly as it was given to them.
Peggy’s strong positive attitude and joy of life brought her and those around her much happiness. She was generous with her love and was much loved in return. She was the kind of person that you would look forward to being with and miss when you parted.
Peggy is survived by her children, Glenda Marie Hamil Reed, husband Randall Reed and Stephen Lee Hamil, wife Melanie Hamil; Grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Hamil Renfro, husband James Renfro and Ayden Bryant Hamil; Great granddaughter, Cheyenne Michelle Hamil Renfro; Brother, Larry Eugene Rose, wife Karen Rose.
