Matthew was born on June 30, 1970, to Kathleen Roach in Harlingen, Texas. Matthew was blessed to be adopted by his father, Robert Roach, in 1986. Growing up, Matthew loved playing football and pole vaulting. After Matthew graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1988, he went on to study accounting at Corpus Christi State (Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, but Hook ‘em).
After graduating with a degree in accounting, Matthew delivered ice cream for Blue Bell. He pursued further education that created an opportunity to begin his career in the financial industry. After several years he started his own business, which ultimately led to his impact in eCommerce at Signet, Animal Supply Company, and finally as Vice-President of eCommerce at SurfacePrep.
In 1998, Matthew met Leigh at their work, Fidelity Investments. They were married in 2000 and went on to have twins, Mason and Mary Roach. Leigh and Matthew were happily married for 21 years. Matthew also shared two children, Elizabeth Roach and Emily (Clove) Westhoff, with his first wife, Veronica Howitt.
Matthew enjoyed spending time outdoors where he liked to run, hike, and explore. His favorite times were spent with his wife and children storytelling, making others laugh, and trying new restaurants.
He is survived by his wife, Leigh Roach, his four children, Elizabeth Roach, Emily (Clove) Westhoff, Mason Roach, and Mary Roach, his parents, Robert and Kathleen Roach, and his siblings Melodie Shelton, Mindy Clark, Robbie Roach, and Scott Roach.
Services will be held at Gracepoint Church on December 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with a viewing at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Genesis Women’s Shelter or North Texas food bank, which are organizations that Matthew actively supported.
