Lawrence Frank Kelly

Lawrence “Larry” Frank Kelly, age 74, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home in Coppell. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home from 5–8pm with a Rosary at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 2pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with burial following in Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 26, 1941 to the late Lawrence W. and Dorothy Kelly. He graduated from DePaul University in Chicago where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Larry was married in 1973 to the love of his life, Gloria Ann Vera. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed, including watching football and baseball, reading, spending time by the pool, and spending time with his grandchildren. Larry retired as the Southwestern Division Controller of Darling International in 2005. Preceding him in death are his parents and his sister, Patricia Blunk. Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria Ann Kelly; his daughter, Jennifer Smiley, and her husband, Will; daughter, Heather Butler, and her husband, Scott; and son, Lawrence A. Kelly; grandchildren include Brianna Butler, Scott R. Butler, Rebecca Butler, Jackson Lewis, Julia Lewis, and John Michael Kelly. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael Blunk and his wife, June; David Blunk and his wife, Nancy; Laura Gialo and her husband, Vito. Great nieces and nephews include Alise and Matthew Blunk; Melissa and Evan Blunk; and Luke, Delaney, and Grace Gialo. Serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence A. Kelly, Alfred Vera, Will Smiley, Scott D. Butler, Scott R. Butler, and Michael Vera. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Blunk, David Blunk, Jon Lewis, Jackson Lewis, and John Michael Kelly. The Kelly Family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Joseph Millburn and Dr. Naveena Allada for their years of dedication to Larry’s care, and to Ann’s Haven VNA for all their help in making Larry comfortable in his final days.
