In loving memory of Kenneth Ray Taylor, who peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on March 11, 2024, at 1:01 am. Born on June 11, 1959, in Odessa, Texas, to the late James Taylor and Allene Carter Taylor. Kenneth embodied the gift of peace as expressed in John 14:27, finding solace in the embrace of his faith.
A graduate of Ector High School in 1977, Kenneth embraced a life defined by faith, love and dedication. He welcomed his son Cedric in 1979 and found his soulmate in Renee Taylor, with whom he shared over 30 years of unwavering devotion. Kenneth's commitment extended beyond his family to a remarkable 45-year career in the oil, gas, and energy industry as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, culminating in a cherished role at Stabil Drill Superior Energy. His steadfastness and hard work were matched only by his love for God, family, and his vocation.
Kenneth leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by his devoted wife, Renee, and their children Cedric, Tanisha, and Shacolby, and a multitude of grandchildren ( Cedric Jr., Atrion Sorrells, Jordan Powell, Brodie Floyd, Brooke Floyd, Braelyn Floyd, Brandyn Floyd, Brianna Floyd, and Braxtyn Floyd ), who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings and their families (Johnny Lockhart (Cecelia) of Waco Tx, James Taylor of Odessa Tx, Bobby Taylor (Sharon) of Odessa Tx, Melinda Batie (Larry) of Odessa Tx. ) whom he deeply loved. Kenneth is preceded in death by his beloved father, James Taylor and mother, Allene Taylor.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in the promise of 1 Corinthians 2:9, (But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him) and knowing that Kenneth now rests in the embrace of eternal love. His spirit will forever be cherished by those who were privileged to know and love him. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5 ). Today we shall be bold and not lose courage, but rather look to the things that are not seen, because then our tribulations will be light and temporary and will work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
