Karen Fitzsimmons Kenney, age 77, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2021 in Plano, TX. She was born on February 12, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Marie Fitzsimmons. She is survived by her son, K.C. Kenney and wife Laura, daughter Lori Prynn, son J.P. Kenney and wife Kimmie, son Tim Kenney and wife Tracye, 9 grandchildren (Taylor Sipes and husband Matt, Courtney Kenney and fiancé Braden Foster, McKenna Prynn, Abby Prynn, Holly Turnbull and husband Geoff, Zach Kenney and wife Lindsay, Patrick Kenney, Connor Kenney, and Camryn Kenney), and great-grandchildren Tommy and Hannah Turnbull. She was preceded in death by her father, William Fitzsimmons in 1970, and her mother Marie Fitzsimmons in 2010.
Karen left a letter to her children, saying “You are my greatest accomplishment in life and I have loved you always and treasure the time we have shared together.” She was a fiercely dedicated friend, daughter, and mother to her children, raising all four of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to her, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left in her absence is impossible to fill.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell, Texas. A private inurnment will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Coppell, Texas. After Mass, the celebration of life will continue at Kelly’s Texican, 110 W. Sandy Lake Road in Coppell.
