Heea S. Kim

My mother, Heea Kim, beloved wife & mother, passed away on August 9, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Heea was born on August 17, 1951 in Chungju, South Korea. After completing nursing school in Korea, she immigrated to the US in the mid-1970s with a vision for new opportunities. She worked and studied hard to obtain her nursing license and worked as a nurse until the early 1990s. She met my father and her husband of 41 years, Yun Kim, in the late 1970s and they were married on September 17, 1980. They had their only son, James, in 1991.

Some of her favorite hobbies were reading and listening to classical music as well as taking walks in nature. She always went the extra mile to be the best wife & the best mother she could be and always thought of my father and I before herself. Through all the adversity and pain with cancer she faced during her later years, she never gave up fighting. She was the most resilient yet kind soul that touched the hearts of many during her lifetime. My mother had the biggest heart and loved her family so much. We love and miss her so much but we know her spirit will always be there to comfort and guide us.
