The world has lost a remarkable woman with the passing of Danita Barber, who left us on December 15, 2024. A happy, beautiful soul whose laughter was as infectious as her compassion was boundless, Danita lived a life overflowing with love, joy, and a deep commitment to those around her.
Born with a heart open to the world, Danita found her purpose in loving her four children and three grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She was their fiercest advocate, biggest cheerleader, and most trusted confidante. Her unconditional love and unwavering support shaped not only their lives but also the lives of countless others she met along her journey.
Danita dedicated her professional life to Library Administration, where she found immense fulfillment in connecting people with the transformative power of books and knowledge.
Danita passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and inspiration. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength.
A celebration of Danita’s remarkable life will be held on January 3, 2025 at 1:00pm Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to help children gain access to books and libraries across the nation at https://theafricanamericanchildrensbookproject.org/
With every life that fades. Something beautiful remains. Rest in Peace Ms. Anne.
