He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Terri Cagle of Coppell and his son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Jenn Cagle, of Lewisville, TX. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tim Jordan, his Sweet Aunt, Bonnie Moore, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He graduated St. Jo High School in 1968 and completed 2 years of college. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Coppell since 1985. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus.
After many years in the industry, he and a partner started their own Gunite Construction company named Prestige Gunite in 1977. He left a great legacy behind as he headed towards retirement. He mentored, helped colleagues to start their own companies, and was highly respected by employees and contemporaries in the industry.
Chris loved spending his down time travelling the world, but his favorite place was his ranch, Cinco Arriba Ranchito, in Encinal, TX. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he spotted and hunted game all over the world. He was right at home riding his big green tractor around his farms in Muenster, TX. He was very passionate about Friday night football, but his true sports love were the Dallas Stars.
Chris was a bear of a man who lived life BIG. He was a dedicated family man. He may have only had one child, but he helped raise and care for many of his extended family. His family loved and respected him, and he returned that with big bear hugs. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. If you became his friend, he was your friend for life. There were countless folks that he called friend. Even if he hadn’t been in touch recently, he always greeted them with a big ole Texas smile when he saw them.
He was preceded in death by his father Adfard Cagle, his mother Hazel Huffman, Stepfather Don Huffman, and his sister Jeanne Cagle.
He loved the Texas wildflowers, and always said they were meant to grow in the wild and not be picked. With that in mind we would ask that you please donate in Chris’ memory to one of the following organizations in lieu of sending flowers.
