Alfonso was born in Matehuala, Mexico to Isidro Moreno and Porfiria Mendoza on October 31,1942. He married Maria Ricarda Lucio in 1965 in Matehuala, Mexico. He moved to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon to provide a better life for his family. There he worked as a welder for different companies which included Protexa, Alen and Manufacturas Leon for over 20 years eventually opening up his own shop. In his free time he enjoyed playing baseball, taking his family to the local wrestling match and listening to music.
He is preceded in death by both parents, Porfiria Mendoza and Isidro Moreno and sister Amparo Moreno. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Ricarda Lucio, children Yolanda Rivas, Juan Moreno, Jose Moreno, Silvia Moreno, Oscar Moreno, Adriana Santiago, Christian Moreno, Karen Moreno, grandchildren Monse Moreno, Liliana Moreno, Jennifer Moreno, Alex Rivas, Diego Rivas, Daniel Cordero, Mateo Cordero and Alexa Moreno.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday November 24 at St Luke Church in Irving, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday November 24 at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. Pallbearers will be Juan Moreno, Jose Moreno, Oscar Moreno, Santos Rivas, Alex Rivas, Diego Rivas, Daniel Cordero, Mateo Cordero.
