Colonel Albert Martini was born during The Great Depression June 13th, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, to Gerarda Bucilli and Pasquale Martini, Brother Anthony Martini. Pasquale worked at Ford Motor Company, Gerarda a mother of two boys. Albert attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. In 1942 after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Albert, who loved his country and the opportunities it gave his family; joined the USMC to enter the Pacific Theater. Being a beacon of bravery and perseverance; Albert handled the machine gun posts, constantly taking enemy fire; staring fatal opposition in the eye but continuing on, so his fellow brothers in arms could advance and take the island. Albert was wounded in battle, several times, but pressed on and fought in Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian. Ultimately, Albert Martini was proudly awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Upon Albert’s return to the states, he pursued a military career serving in Five Branches of the Armed Services, including Green Beret’s and the National Guard. Using his vast skill set, Albert used his focus and concentration to become a Draft Designer at Chrysler Motors, where his work can still be seen posthumously on display at the Epcot Center in Florida where his contributions to the design of a concept automobile still sit on display.
Colonel Albert Martini lived an adventurous, and fulfilling life. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dolores Martini of 68 years, his nurturing daughter Judy Madden, his loving son Stephen Martini (Cheryl Baker), grandson Sean Thomas Madden (Kristina Madden), granddaughter Kathleen Shea (Thomas Shea), and grandsons Collin Martini and Vincent Martini, great- granddaughter Ava Grace Shea. Colonel Albert Martini was preceded in death by his son Albert Martini Jr.
