I remember when I used to visit my grandma and grandpa, Rita would invite me over to play with the girls. She would make us lunch. She invited me into the pool. Monica Morselli Klein

I remember when grandpa passed in 1987, both Stirling and Rita would check in on grandma. They updated my father if they felt or saw that something wasn’t right.  We greatly appreciated their kindness. Monica Morselli Klein. 

Grandma, thank you for always jamming with me in the car!! The last time I was in the car with her, I remember she told me while we were driving down the street a few months ago that she wanted to listen to Kelsea Ballerini. She mentioned how soothing, nice, and calming her voice was and that it reminded her of when I used to sing to her in person and on the phone as a kid.

To my grandma and my best friend, I remember the times I was younger and would call you just to sing to you, and you would always just sit patiently and listen then compliment me and I truly thank you for that. I will never forget the time I had my first car and hit two mailboxes while I was going 15mph down my friends street and didn’t want to tell my mom so I immediately called my grandma asking her what to do lol, Sorry mom! But as time went on and I started to get older, the weekly and check-up calls turned into rants, asking for advice, talking about who we like the most on the bachelor and bachelorette, and funny conversations. I am heartbroken and torn that I can’t have those weekly check-up calls anymore, but I will always be talking to her from a distance. I will always hold our memories close to me and they will never be forgotten. She was the strongest, most encouraging, faithful, kindness, caring grandma and best friend that I will always cherish, and I will continue to work hard for myself and her to show her in heaven that no matter what comes my way, I will accomplish it and challenge myself while staying strong, just like she did! I love you so much grandma, i’m not sure how I will get through this, but if you fought strong and hard, then so will I. This was the last photo she ever sent me and this photo will now always stay with me on my bedside table. Rest peacefully in heaven angel, I love you to infinity and beyond and I will see you again one day!!!

Mrs. Soukup was a bright and cheery presence for all the kids at the school where she worked and for those of us who were lucky enough to be friends with her beautiful daughters. She always had a kind word, a friendly smile and an open house that made you feel welcome.  She was everyone’s second Mom and always stepped in and helped out wherever needed. I’ll never forget the time she fixed the hem on my dress as Suzanne and I were heading to a school dance. I’ll always remember the many loud and all night sleepovers she allowed us to have. She was a beautiful and kind person and our world, mine especially, was better for her presence. 

I worked at Susan E. Wiley for 5 years and Rita was always a source of joy and humor. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. Love and prayers to her family.
