Mr. Chmielewski is survived by his wife, Apolonia; his children - Joseph and daughter-in-law, Halina; Wieslaw and daughter-in-law, Teresa; and Richard and daughter-in-law, Wieslawa. Also surviving are his grandchildren - Albert (Renata), Ewa (Steve), Annette (Mark) and Olivia (John); his great-grandchildren - Michael, Jesse, Brianna, Matthew, David, Jonathan, Noah and Zoe; his brothers - Stanislaw, Edward and Czeslaw; his nephew - Stephan (Mary) Rakowski; and his former daughter-in-law, Alicja.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 7-9:30 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
