Margaret (Meg) M. Rittenhouse, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on November 26, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on December 3, 1949, and lived a life filled with love, devotion, and family.
Meg is survived by her loving husband, Richard Rittenhouse, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. The two were married when Meg was just 19 and Richard was 22, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in affection, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment.
She was the devoted mother of Carrie Clark (Edward), Richard Rittenhouse (Cynthia), Kenneth Rittenhouse (Deanna), and Peter Rittenhouse (Alexandria), who together blessed her with eight grandchildren: Richard, Matthew, Kaylee, Cara, Dallas, Amelia, Jacob, and Hannah. Meg was an adoring grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, showering them with love and wisdom.
In addition to her immediate family, Meg is survived by her brother, James Rumola, who shared in the joys of her life and will continue to carry her memory forward. She was deeply loved by her extended family, friends, and all who knew her. Meg was known as the proud founder of the Lindenhurst Six.
Meg had a profound love for spending time with her family, and those who knew her best will remember her as a woman of grace, kindness, and generosity. Her nurturing spirit and infectious warmth made her the heart of her family, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Meg's life at the visitation on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Our Lady of the Assumption RC Church in Copiague, NY. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
Meg's life was a beautiful testament to the love of family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
