Sonny shared 68 years of a blissful marriage with his devoted wife, Diane Elizabeth Phoenix Denier. Their union was a testament to love's enduring strength, serving as an inspiration to many. Their bond exemplified the true meaning of partnership, weathering life's joys and challenges with steadfast devotion and unwavering support.
A loving and cherished father, Sonny leaves behind a legacy of adoring children: Jim and Melissa Denier, Mike Denier, Curly and Tracey Denier, and Christine and Jerry Schaefer. He imparted invaluable wisdom, instilling in each of them the importance of family, hard work, and compassion.

Sonny's quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to his grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories.He was also a great-grandfather to Landon Barr and Carly Barr, further extending his legacy of love and warmth to the youngest generation of his family.
Sonny's dedication extended beyond his family, as he was an integral part of his community. In addition to his dedication to family and friends, Sonny served in the army during the Korean War.
