She was born and raised in Anoka with four brothers and three sisters. She joined five of those siblings in Heaven - Virgil, Emil, Dwight, Louise, and Lucille. Verna was a wife, and mother to a son and daughter. She finished her high school diploma and went to trade school to become a Ward Clerk, as she had a heart for the elderly. She had worked with the disabled and elderly most of her working life.
Verna was a longtime member of Northport Baptist Church in Minneapolis, and Deerwood Baptist Church in Deerwood. She was always known for her excellent cooking, extreme canning, and extraordinary gardens! Nobody knew the trail to every Dairy Queen like Verna did!
Verna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William F. Isaacs, and most recently widowed by James R. Hill.
Verna is survived by her son, Dennis (Ruth) Isaacs; daughter, Judith (Gordon) Isaacs-Herrig; and siblings, Dorothy and Ronald. She is loved by her step-family and her extended family members - including 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Join us to Celebrate Verna's Life on Monday, April 25th, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation 9 am to 10:30 am, service at 10:30 am, and private interment to follow at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
