Lorraine Lois Weerts, age 88, of Fairmont, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Lorraine was born May 9, 1933 in Fairmont. On September 18, 1949, Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Weerts at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The couple resided in Fairmont and raised four children, Diana, Danny, Gary and Lonnie. Lorraine and Don shared sixty four years together.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Charles Howerter of Detroit Lakes, MN, Chris Howerter (Tom) of Minneapolis, MN, Chad Wolter of Coon Rapids, MN, Danette Hoeft (Jeffrey) of Coon Rapids, MN, Tonya Schmitz (Monty Johnson) of Kenyon, MN, Dominick Wolter (Leah) of Coon Rapids, MN, Melissa Fox of New London, MN, Daniel Weerts of New London, MN, and Jeremiah Weerts; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeanne Leet (Kenneth) of Waseca, MN, Linda Dahl (Marlin) of Granada, MN, and sister-in-law, Mollie Wolter of Fairmont, MN; brothers-in-law, Ralph Weerts (Norma), James Weerts (Lynell) of Burbank, CA); many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Harry and Elsie Wolter, Lorraine was also preceded in death by her children, Diana Howerter, Danny Weerts, Gary Weerts, and Lonnie Weerts; son-in-law, Chuck Howerter; brother, Dean Wolter; brother-in-laws, Ralph Kuiper and Robert Weis; sister-in-laws, Althea Kuiper, Donna Weis, granddaughter-in-law, Donna Willette; and nephew, Tim Wolter.
Lorraine was proud of starting her own balloon bouquet business. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed doing crafts, and refurbishing furniture. She helped out a lot of people over the years, by giving them shelter and employment. She was always there to help no matter what, and her house was always open to whoever.
