Leona Theresa Clumb was born in Mahnomen County, MN on August 14, 1926 and passed surrounded by family in Circle Pines, MN on October 14, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Clumb, parents Ben and Tina Buschette, siblings Allen (Rosemary) Buschette, Gerald (Shirley) Buschette. Leona is survived by children LR Clumb (Linda Jackson), Bruce (Ruthie) Clumb, Carol Aaberg (Barry Kusch), Linda (John) Hurst, Susie (Tim) Ferguson, favorite nieces Myrtice Champagne and Debra Buschette, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all those touched and loved by Leona during her life. A special thank you to Accentcare/Fairview Hospice for their loving and caring guidance.
Leona had a passion for gardening, crafting, cooking for her family, and George Strait. Her garden was her pride and joy, and if the weather permitted, you would always be granted a detailed tour of all the painstaking life she cultivated in the dirt. Working with her hands, Leona crafted and sewed, and taught others how to do the same. She loved to create items that brought others joy. Even when her sight failed her, Leona would tie blankets and donate them to those in need. Feeding anyone, not only her family, gave Leona so much joy. Her culinary talent peaked with beautifully decorated cakes and soul warming bowls of soup. Leona filled the air with country music and once George Strait hit her ear, she could not suppress a smile.
Funeral services for Leona will be held on November 15th, 2021 at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. Coon Rapids). Visitation is 10am-11am, service begins at 11am. Burial at Morningside Memorial Gardens (11800 University Ave. Coon Rapids) following service. Luncheon to follow at Sgt John Rice VFW Post 6313 (1374-109th Ave. Blaine).
