Age 99 of Coon Rapids, passed away July 22, 2022. Eleanore is survived by her daughters Cathy (Chris) Mackenzie of Sun City, CA, Carol (John) Rinde of Maple Grove, MN, Barb Heinen of Spicer, MN; Son, Peter (Jill) Becken of Lino Lakes, MN, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Eleanore was preceeded in death by her parents, four sisters, and three brothers, husband Warren, son-in-law Larry Heinen, and grandson Michael Rinde.
Eleanore was born on February 13, 1923 at a farm home near Newfolden, MN. She was the seventh of eight children born to Abel and Hilma Anderson. She grew up on this farm, attended country school and Swedish Lutheran Church in Strandquist where her father was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. She attended Newfolden high school where she was co-valedictorian with her good friend in the graduating class of twenty-nine. She then attended the Minneapolis Business College.
Eleanore met Warren in August of 1946 when he had just returned home from the U.S. Navy. They were married December 27, 1947. They lived in Greenbush, Tyler, Montevideo and Willmar.
Warren retired in 1987. He and Eleanore moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1988 and purchased a summer place on Lake Mille Lacs. When Warren passed away in 1993, Eleanore sold both places and moved to Margaret Place in Coon Rapids in 1994 where she lived for the remainder of her life (about 28 years).
While she missed Warren terribly, Eleanore kept very busy with family, friends, church, traveling and the many activities at Margaret Place. She continued to be a big Twins fan throughout her life, but even more so was a huge fan of each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their respective activities and accomplishments. Eleanore was extremely resilient, had a very sharp memory throughout her 99 years and had a very strong Christian faith (she was a prayer warrior). She was truly a beloved mother and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on August 3rd at Faith Lutheran Church 11115 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55443 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior followed by lunch. Interment will be at Fort Snelling on August 31st.
