Donna May Olson

Preceded in death by her father Ruben Anderson and mother Pearl Anderson as well as her sister Sandra Lang.

She will dearly missed by her husband of 19 years Wes Olson. By her sister Geraldine LaBeaux and brother Russel Anderson. She will be held close to the hearts of her daughters Alice Reed and Colleen Engstrom (Scott). Her step sons David Olson (Kim) and Robert Olson. She had 8 grandchildren Rachael Alkatout (Omar) Nathan Engstrom (Alex), Alicia Teerlinck (Louis), Zachary Engstrom, Emily Mendoza (Jose), Dylan Olson, Brooke Olson, Geno Huddleston, Vincenzio Olson. Precious great grand children Mazin (11), Jasper (9), Sidra (6) and Mateo (8 months) with another great grandson on the way.

Donna’s hands were never idle. She had 4 Kindles. One would get lost and she would just buy another. She took them everywhere she went to read, play games and take pictures. She loved to sew, needlepoint and make blankets for nursing care homes and homeless veterans. She loved to tend her gardens and would carefully weed each by hand for hours at a time. She loved to bake recipes from her Scandinavian heritage and everyone looked forward to her delicious holiday treats.

She was an animal lover who cared and loved many pets throughout her life. Dogs, birds and even tarantulas. Donna worked at CPI who made pacemakers for most of her working years before enjoying retirement. She married her husband Wes on September 27th 2002 after 10 years together.

She and Wes wintered in Mission, TX for 13 years. She enjoyed her women’s club Purple Hats and had many friends there. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and part of the Ladies' Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign War and she and Wes were active members of the VFW #6316. They loved traveling together for years. She will be deeply missed.

Please Join us to Celebrate Donna's life on August 7th, 2021. Interment will take place at 11:00 am at Morningside Memorial Gardens, 11800 University Ave NW, Coon Rapids. A luncheon and Celebration of Life will follow at the Olson Residence from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please reach out to the family if you are unsure of the location of the residence.
