Dave was born in Mason City Iowa and his family moved to the Eastside of Saint Paul where he grew up making mischief and playing sports for Hazel Park. He graduated from Johnson High School, excelling at athletics. Upon graduation Dave proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Frances Hammond during the Vietnam conflict. After being honorably discharged he crossed the United States touring with the Pro Foosball League. Dave then worked at 3M as a forklift operator and later at Mid-America Cedar in sales. He wrapped up his working years serving his country again as a Mail Handler at the US Postal Service. Dave and his dear friend Janna Neperud started a business raising Chinese Shar Pei dogs, a rare breed at the time. After raising many adorable wrinkly pups, Bingo settled in as his best buddy.
As a young man Dave enjoyed skiing, fishing on Lake of the Woods, vacationing in Mexico and growing Bonsai. Later in life he enjoyed relaxing on the deck, watching the birds and his dogs run in the yard. Sports were his passion and he could be found cheering on all teams, from the Vikings to Women's Gopher sports to Spring Lake Park athletics.
Dave will be missed by many loved ones and friends. Many thanks to the nursing staff at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, MN.
