Robert Hood

Robert Hood, age 77, of Riverdale, passed away on Monday, November 19 2012. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Conyers Chapel (formerly Horis A. Ward, Rockdale Chapel), at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating.

Robert Hood, the third child of the late John & Ruth Hood, was born December 12, 1934, in Atlanta, Georgia.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Bob (as known by many) retired from United Airlines with over 26 years of service. After retiring, he continued to work part-time for Air Service until October, 2012.

He was a devoted fan of the Falcons (Atlanta Football Team). He also enjoyed dancing and singing with his friends.

Robert has one son who succeeded him in death, Chauncey Taylor. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Connie Hood Davis (Terrell); sons, Tony Taylor and Clancy Murray (Lupita); grandchildren, Kamauh Merriwether, Jamal Merriwether, Shawndreka Hutchins, Tony “T.J.” Taylor, Jr., Khyree Taylor, Raven Murray, Bryce Murray; great-grandchild, Taliyah Merriwether; niece, Norma Hood; nephew, Anthony Hood and numerous family and friends, and a special friend that was dear to him, Ms. Letha Allen.
