Jack R. Maloy, age 84, of Conyers, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Horis A. Ward Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Reese Sanders and Pastor Mike Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, in Conyers.
He touched many lives and enjoyed sharing the gospel of salvation with anyone he met. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family. Mr. Maloy was a WWII & Korean War US Army Veteran, who retired from the Army after 17 1/2 years of service. He worked for Lithonia Lighting before starting to work for Mann & Walden Funeral Home in 1992, which later became Horis A Ward, Olde Town Chapel. Currently he worked at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Horis A Ward Chapel. A past commander of The American Legion post 77, was a member of VFW, Philogia Masonic Lodge #178, and attended Highland Park Baptist & Zion Baptist Church.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by his sons, Ralph & Cheri Maloy of Covington and Ronnie & Cheryl Maloy, of Joppa, MD; daughter, Linda McElreath, of Conyers; grandchildren, Sam & Deanne Maloy, of Monroe, Suzanne & Matt Cobb, of Loganville, Amanda Smith, of Annville, KY, Steven McElreath, of Rutledge, Randolph McElreath, of Conyers; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Ella Ruth Goss, James Maloy, Lamar & Lena Maloy, Bobby Maloy, Mary Ellen & Eugene Mitchell, Warren Maloy and Paul & Margaret Maloy; several nieces & nephews; special friend, Shirley Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor “Pat” Maloy, parents, Edgar Marion & Mary Elizabeth Watson Maloy, siblings, Charlie Maloy and Louise Dick.
