Gene Colvin Smith

Gene C. Smith, age 63, of Stockbridge, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Union United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, with Dr. Wallace Wheeles and Dr. Mike Cash officiating. Interment will follow at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stockbridge.

A native of Forest Park, GA, Mr. Smith retired after 37 years of service from R. R. Donnelley, was a Master Mason in 2007 of the Panthersville lodge # 543. Gene was a very active member of Union United Methodist Church and The Rockdale Democratic Party.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Y. Smith of Stockbridge; children, Andrew W. Smith of Stockbridge, Patrick (Lola) Smith of Eatonton, Erin M. Smith of Stockbridge; brother, Marion (Jean) Smith; grandchildren, Shalee Apple, Logan S. Smith, Jack C. Smith and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel.
