On April 16, 2018, Mrs. Yolanda Chocano Hutchinson departed to meet her Creator and loved ones that went before her. Born on October 5, 1923, she was 94 when she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Hutchinson, her mother Victoria Chocano de Tizon, second husband Clifton Brown, her sister Gloria Chocano de Lambour, and her grandson Bryan Hutchinson.
She is survived by her brother, Santiago Tizon and Julia Elisa of Guatemala City, Guatemala; four children; Caryn Hutchinson of Bedford Texas, Alan Hutchinson and Joyce of Conway, Eric Hutchinson and Donna of Conway, and Deena H. Flanigan and Tim of Greenbrier. Also by her seven grandchildren: Alex Baggett, and Patrick Baggett and wife Catie, Molly Young and husband Rob, Amy Huett and husband Kevin (Dino), Duncan Shumate and wife Ana, Rachael Lipscomb and husband Brad, and Mandy Akins and husband Jeff. Also surviving their “Lita” are her 16 Great Grandchildren Dorian Baggett, Harrison, Henry , and Hamilton Young, Katie, Nicholas, and Eric Huett, Madison, Olivia and Cooper Lipscomb, Ayden, Abby-Kate, Carter, and Eden Shumate, and James and Timothy Akins, .
Mrs. Hutchinson had a great love for teaching and helping others. She was a foreign languages teacher and worked with the Literacy Council for many years. She enjoyed the challenge of teaching English to foreigners who came from many parts of the world. A member of Harlan Park Baptist Church for almost two decades, she served as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Hutchinson requested that those attending her services wear spring colors rather than black. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Visitation is Thursday, April 19 from 1-2 p.m. in the Griffin Leggett Conway Chapel. Service will follow at 2 p.m.
