He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Ruth Kellermann, daughter Lisa Hart, his parents, one brother Murlys Crawford, and four sisters Thelma Hutchins, Inez Bailey, Tommye Hamilton, and Mattie Higgs.
He retired as a Technical Sergeant after 20 years in the United States Air Force, and he retired from the Arkansas Employment Security Department in services to veterans. Having served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict, Billy was an advocate for veterans, not only in word, but in deed. For many years he was an active member of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and DAV. He had over 1000 hours of volunteer service. He always enjoyed “coffee and” with his many friends at Ed’s Bakery and Julie’s Sweet Shoppe. He appreciated Julie Goodnight and the special attention that she extends to honor veterans.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Crawford, son Tommy (Mary) Crawford, grandchildren Matt (Angela) Crawford, Parks (Nicole Segear) Crawford, Jessica (Matt) Kaykhossrokiani, Ben Hart, and four great-grandchildren Carroll Ann Crawford, Forrest, Joni, and Charlea Kaykhossrokiani. He is also survived by his closest sister, and best friend, Lillie Snow of Alexander. He had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews and their children.
The family would like to acknowledge all of the residents, employees, and Cynthia Tillman at College Square. We appreciate you all, you were truly a second family to Billy.
