William “Bill” Corley, 91, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 4, 2015. He was born on August 20, 1924 in Richards, Texas, to William and Ona Corley. Bill proudly served his country in WWII in the United States Navy. In the Navy he served as a Turret Gunner with the VT-11 squadron attached to the Avenger Naval torpedo plane. After the war he started his own company as a home remodeling contractor and continued for over 45 years in and around Houston. Bill was also a Mason and was a 30 year member of the Heights Lions Club. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Fannie Louise Corley; sons Billy Corley and wife Phyllis, and Michael Corley and wife Gerry; grandchildren Rachel Hines and husband Blake, and Doug Corley and wife Connie; great-grandchildren Katelynn and Collin Hines, and Hunter and Taylor Corley; sister Nelda Lamar and husband John and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Copeland Chapel Cemetery.
