Voncile Fountain Drake

Voncile Drake, 91, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Waco, Tx. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at Metcalf Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Friday, October 26th at Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe, Tx. Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Tx.

Voncile was born on May 24, 1921 in Monroe County, Al to Charles and Maggie Fountain. In September 1939 she married Curtis Williams in Crestview, Fl. She later married Cecil Hellums who preceded her in death in 1984. She was later married to Travis Drake who also preceded her in death in 2001.

She was a faithful member of the RiverPointe Baptist Church in Conroe, a member of the Mary Martha Chapter of Eastern Star, and a volunteer for over 30 years at Conroe Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson, and one great grandson. She is survived by one brother, Woodrow Fountain, three daughters, Pat James and husband Ken of Waco, Tx; Marayan Mehaffie and husband Don of Houston, Tx; and Audrey Wyatt of Rockport, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
