Shirley Jane Waller Shirley Jane Waller, of April Sound, Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully to enter into heaven on August 5, 2011, with her family beside her. The seventh of eight children, she was born in Huntsville, Texas on May 25, 1923, to Daisy Octavia and Arch Henry Robertson. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, D.B. Waller.
She grew up resilient and strong minded in an era that often brought hardships, as well as The Great Depression. We often delighted in hearing her colorful and animated stories of her life on the farm and how she and her brothers and sisters invented creative toys and ways to play..
She was a wonderful wife to our dad and mom to us. Our fondest and most loving memories of her include; her keen sense of humor and reasoning, her gourmet cooking, her outstanding knowledge and expertise at bridge, her beautiful and often comic poetry writings, and her unfailing love and loyalty to her family and friends. She was an ever present ray of sunshine as well as the life of the party. She was a firm believer in doing your best and making others happy. We will not forget the countless family gatherings and social events our mom hosted and her well known attribute of being one of the best cooks around. Her examples of leadership and the importance of getting a good education will always be with us. She adored and was very proud her grandchildren, Robert Brannon, Lindsey Kone, and Daniel Waller. Recently, one of her happiest moments was meeting her first great grandson, Owen Robert Brannon.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Conroe, Texas and in her later years a visitor of the April Sound Church in Montgomery, Texas.
She is survived by her children; daughters; Daisy Linda Waller Kone and husband, Dr. Bruce Kone, Shirley Denise Waller, and one son, Dennis B. Waller; brother in law, Morris Waller and wife Jan Waller. In addition she is survived by her grandchildren; Robert Dennis Brannon and wife Holly Davis Brannon, Lindsey Jane Kone, Daniel Bradley Waller, one great grandson, Owen Robert Brannon, and numerous relatives and friends.
