Sandra was raised in La Porte, Texas and graduated from La Porte High School in 1956. After high school, she worked at the family lumberyard and attended Lee College in Baytown, Texas.
In 1961, Sandra married Edward Jerome Pillow. Edward worked in the oil business, which allowed their family to live and travel extensively in Europe and Southeast Asia. They lived in Rome, Italy and Jakarta, Indonesia before returning to Texas and relocating to Montgomery County, Texas.
Throughout most of her marriage, Sandra was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. In 1983, she achieved her dream of becoming a realtor. Sandra started her real estate career at Real Estate Depot and then moved to Century 21 where she met her future business partner and friend, Cissy Baylor. They officially formed The Winning Team in 1991 when they joined Re Max in The Woodlands and retired in 2022. Sandra and Cissy loved working in real estate together and made many wonderful friends over the years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ida Mayes, her daughter, Kara Lynn Pillow, and her husband, Edward J. Pillow. She is survived by daughter, Kassandra K. Pillow, sister and brother-in-law, D. Ann and Gary Komar, niece and husband, Kendall and Brandon Fielding, and nephew and wife Cole and Megan Komar.
A celebration of life and reception for Sandra will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, Texas, 77303.
