Sandra was born on February 1, 1943 in Freeport, TX and raised in Groceville, TX to parents Joe Lee and Nina (Atkinson) Groce. Sandra studied at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
Sandra was predeceased by her sisters Shirley, Jean, and Patsy; she is survived by her sisters Lela and Roxie; her husband of 63 years, Henry Harris; her children Cynthia, Renae, Benton, John, Trey, and Daniel; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many other children and young adults that she and Henry took in and nurtured over the years.
Sandra was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over her long and celebrated life she owned and operated a health food store and worked as a nutritionist. Sandra was well read, an avid gardener, a natural remedy healer, and an accomplished genealogist. But her passion and joy came from attending to and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Sandra was loved, admired, and respected by a wide circle of friends and relatives. The lives she touched were made richer for having known her. She will be remembered as a woman of class, beauty, and tremendous love for all.
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, TX, 77303, Friday, September 15th from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service at 10am on Saturday, September 16th, directly followed by burial in Whispering Pines Cemetery in Conroe.
