Samuel William Levingston, III, 83, of Houston, Texas passed away, February 7, 2014. Born in Port Arthur, August 24, 1930, to Eileen & Capt. Samuel William Levingston, II. Sam graduated from Thomas Jefferson High, 1949 and received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M College, 1955. Sam served as Captain in the US Army for 6.5 years, in charge of the European War Dog program. Sam opened Sharpstown Veterinary Clinic in Houston in 1964, later he opened 4 additional clinics. Sam enjoyed spending time at the ranch riding horses & boating on Lake Conroe. He was a member of the Harris & Montgomery County Veterinary Associations, Conroe Lions Club and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. He was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He is survived by daughters Heather Levingston & Angela Levingston Eckhardt. Brother Joel Levingston & family. Visitation at 2pm, service at 3pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas. Burial will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery.
