Salvatore "Sal" Saputo Jr. was born on October 6, 1929 in Springfield, Illinois to Rose and Sam Saputo Sr. After spending the majority of his youth in St. Louis, Missouri he chose to enlist in the United States Armed Services where he served our country in the Korean War. Upon his return from the services he set out on a mission by riding a moped to where everything was bigger and better, Texas! He established ground in Houston, Texas as an entrepreneur. His shoe repair and western wear store is where he met the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Grace Sealy. In the 1980's he poured his own blood, sweat and tears to build a house in Tomball, Texas. After making several family memories there he and Grace sold the house on a whim and decided to tour the country in their RV. When their adventure ended they purchased a small piece of land in Dobbin, Texas where he built a little house just for them. In 2005 he and Grace decided to move to Huntsville, Texas where they would retire on the farm with his Daughter and Son-In-Law, Pam and Del Harris. He played several roles in our family. Husband, Dad, Advisor, Counselor and Financial Consultant but most importantly... he was Papa. He enjoyed his woodwork and through the years he made several treasures for his grandchildren. On Friday, August 12, 2016 with his family surrounding him, he found his final resting place in Heaven.
