On June 8th, 2018, a “Son of the Republic of Texas" Roy Sylvester Fuller, Jr., 75, joined the love of his life, Kathleen Erwin Fuller, in heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sylvester Fuller,Sr. and Helen Anna Scott Fuller. Roy was born October 29, 1942 in Houston, Texas. He grew up in Channelview along with his sisters, Pearl and Helen. About the age of 14, he began work on a tugboat. That wasn't to his liking, even though his father was a well-known Captain. He loved and was good at tearing down and rebuilding vehicles. After marrying on May 22, 1965, Kathleen led Roy to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was self-employed, building aluminum additions to homes. He also had a way with wood, building whatever he or a loved one desired. He built their home here in Montgomery County, where they raised their two daughters, Kristi and Karla. Since 1976 they faithfully attended Conroe Bible Church. Roy is survived by his daughters, Kristi Denise LaBonte and husband Scott Allen of Tucson, Arizona, Karla Diane Bussell and husband Troy of Hockley,Texas, four grandchildren, Steven Sweeten jr., Jocelyn Tiffany Burkey, Kayli Desormeaux, Cole Kopydloyski, great- granddaughter, Mackenzie Sweeten, sisters, Pearl Cavin and Helen Woodring and brothers-in- law, Ralph Erwin and wife Erma, Paul Erwin and wife Frances, Kenneth Erwin and wife Fran. Numerous other nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor John Schubert officiating. Roy had requested that everyone in attendance of his funeral wear a Hawaiian shirt. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
