Numerous other friends and relatives also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Royce Lee.
He was a Conroe High School graduate class of 1967 and served his county in the US Army in Vietnam form 1968- 1970. He was a lifelong resident of Grangerland Community, a member of First Baptist Church of Grangerland and member of the Masonic Lodge #748, Conroe, Texas.
Ronald’s life began in the small community of Grangerland surrounded by loving family and many friends. He learned at an early age the value of what it meant to give a man’s word and stuck by that code his entire life. He was raised in the Baptist church and was able to navigate many of life’s ups and downs from that Christian foundation. His childhood was spent riding horses, chasing cows, and hunting all over the Conroe Oilfield and many other rural areas of Montgomery County, swimming in Caney Creek or fishing on the Trinity River with his grandpa and many other family and friends. After he graduated from high school, he was called away to fight in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970. When he returned home, he went to work in the oilfields, but then changed course and went into the logging business, first for someone else and then starting his own business, which he had for many years. He also continued to help his daddy with the cattle and of course spent many, many days chasing a whitetail deer. He was known as quite a cowhand when he was younger, never a bull to bad or an old Brahman cow too mean that he couldn’t rope! When it came to deer hunting, he would be hard to match and killed many deer with a shotgun ahead of a pack of walker dogs. For him it did not get any better than that. As time went on, he returned to the oilfield as a pumper and retired around 2004. Only shortly thereafter, he had a serious accident and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Having spent the last four years in a nursing home after being diagnosed with advanced dementia, but we can take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is new and whole again basking in the love of Jesus Christ.
