August 8th, 1944: The United States Forest Service and the Wartime Advertising Council release posters featuring Smokey Bear for the first time. On that same day, Ronald Gene Beall was born in Dallas, Tx. After fighting a long battle - cancer took Ron’s life on October 1st, 2022, at the age of 78 at the HCA Hospital in Conroe, TX. He is now reunited with his parents, Cecil and Margie Beall and his brother Johnnie Beall.
He was an amazing fighter, tough to the end, cheering on his favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys. Ron was a sports enthusiast and had a love of music and movies. Being a well-read person, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of history and any trivia you might need an answer to. He never met a stranger due to his outgoing personality.
Holding his hand for 33 years, Ron is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue and his two sons, Steven and his wife, Sandy, Timothy, and his wife, Wendie, 3 grandchildren, Brayden, Brogan and Austin.
He enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War. Being a Veteran was an honor to him. Proudly, Ron would share with others that both sons have served time in the military. Steven has made a career in the Navy. Ron and the family received a warm welcome from the cadets in Florida while attending Captain Steven Beall’s Commanding Officer of Naval School Explosive Ordinance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Change of Command ceremony.
Ron enjoyed the casino, traveling, seeing new sites, eating out, and making remarkable memories with his loved ones. His career was that of an Estimator in the oil business. He worked at various fabricating shops since his return from Vietnam in the 60s. The last being Tex-Fab where he was employed for a period of 30 years. He enjoyed his job and his co-workers; it was the cancer that forced him to finally retire at the age of 75. Many lifetime friendships were made.
Visitation is scheduled for, Sunday, October 9th from 2:30PM to 4:30PM. Funeral services will be held on October 10th at 2:00PM. Both services will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors 1800 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304. A graveside service will be held October 12th at 11:00 AM at Restland Cemetery, Dallas Tx. where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents.
God notices when you practice kindness, and the Bible reminds us of the Golden Rule to treat others as you want to be treated. This is a rule that 2 special ladies shared with his wife’s love for him, her cousin Shelia Gayle Greene and personal assistant, Carolyn Carter. The three made it possible for his last years to be joyful. Keeping his suitcase packed and ready to roll. Both of his (friend girls as Ron would call them) are Taurus, their patience and reliability is greatly appreciated. Ron’s last years on Earth were blessed by them. In the book of Hebrews, God rewards those who seek him and is promised a place in heaven.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A celebration of life will occur Monday, October 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors.
