Robert L. Wright passed away on February 24, 2022 in Houston, TX from surgical complications. He was 78 and preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Dennis L. Olson. Robert leaves his wife, JoAnn, of 32 years, his sister, Lanette Nelson, his niece, Denise Montoya, and first cousin, Robert (Carolyn) Wells. He helped raise the children of his first wife, Nancy: Ricky, Darin, and Michael Wuerz.
He was known as “Butch” to his family and “Bob” to his co-workers. He served as an Army Air Traffic Controller in Vietnam.
As a Sr. Piping Designer, he worked for many major international engineering companies, including Bechtel, Jacobs, Foster Wheeler, and CB&I. He loved designing the layout of the piping for refineries and other major projects, and working with his colleagues.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:45am in Houston National Cemetery. A luncheon immediately after the memorial service, hosted by the family, at: Herrera’s Mexican Restaurant, patio (9420 College Park Drive, The Woodlands, TX (near Conroe, TX) 936-213-0559.)
