Rita Renee Autrey

Rita Renee Autrey, born on September 28, 1953, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2026, at the age of 72. A devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished family member, Renee lived a life defined by unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Renee was married to her first and only husband, Anthony Autrey, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and steadfast commitment. Together they raised two children, April Autrey Vaughn and Michael Autrey, who were the center of her world. Renee poured her heart into motherhood, spending her days nurturing, guiding, and celebrating her children. She participated in every part of their lives—playing with them, supporting their dreams, and surrounding them with unconditional love.

Renee was raised by her mother, Delores Blevins, who loved her without end and devoted her life to ensure her children were cared for, supported, and surrounded by love.

Renee shared a special bond with her father Charlie Edwards and her stepmother, Ma Sue Edwards, with whom she spent much of her time. Ma Sue and Charlie were deeply involved in the lives of Renee, Anthony, and their children, playing a meaningful and influential role in April and Michael’s upbringing.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Delores Blevins and Charlie Edwards, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life. Renee is survived by her husband, Anthony Autrey, children April Vaughn and Michael Autrey, daughter in law Crystal Autrey and son in law Nick Vaughn, grandchildren Maegan Vaughn and Molly Vaughn, stepmother Ma Sue Edwards, sisters Cheryl Platt, Lana Edwards, and Beth Boone, and her brothers Charles Edwards and Greg Edwards, all of whom shared in the bonds of family that shaped her early years and remained meaningful throughout her life.

Renee will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle spirit, and her deep devotion to her family. Her love was unwavering, her presence a source of comfort, and her impact immeasurable. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and a lifetime of cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Cashner Funeral Home, located at 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
